Thanksgiving Day 2006 was spent with my dad, brother-Stacy and his family, and sister-Amy (her picture came out way too dark). Joel deep-fried the turkey as usual but we did something a little different with spicing the turkey. We usually inject cajun spices, but this year we soaked it overnight in a brine. A brine is a really salty water solution with some other seasonings. That's Jack in the brining bucket (before we did the turkey and yes we washed it after he was in it:)
